Community Health Nursing

The Department of Community Health Nursing is involved training of under-graduate nursing students in the field of Community Health Nursing.

Students are trained in the areas of family assessment and community assessment to identify health problems of people living in the community. Students are further trained to make referrals for people identified to have problems and to give health education with emphasis on primary prevention.

CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Providing need based care to the individual, family and community at adopted villages of Muthusandra Rural, Tumkur by Church of South India Hospital School of Nursing, Bangalore.
  • Conducting clinic in adopted villages.
  • MCH services in Urban and Rural health centers
  • Participates and observes in National Health Programme
  • Organizes School Health Programme and Nutrition Projects
  • Organizes various camps based on the need
  • Nursing research in the field of Community Health Nursing
  • Coordinating with other departments of CSI Hospital
  • Providing community health experiences to International students.
